The "3" next to the specs refer to the bolt pattern. The first number is XXXXX lbs and the second number is XXXXX. I have used impact on crank bolts with 200-250ft-lb torque specs. The Subaru torque spec isn't that high. Personally I would not (and did not) use an impact; the factory procedure isn't that difficult to follow. You will be really sorry if the thread strip out or the bolt stretches and is damaged.
